| How the Happy Couple Met and Fell In Love |
Her Perspective I met Isaac through the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity at NMSU. He was my “big brother” during my first year. Although we didn’t hang out much in college, I knew that there was something special about him. After graduation we kept in touch through his mass e-mails informing everyone of his travels. I did visit him once in Houston, although he has no recollection of me being there. In 2006, he sent one of his infamous e-mails communicating his move to Denver. I responded to catch up and told him I was ready for a change. As luck would have it, the very next day the person who held my current position turned in her notice. Within three weeks I moved to Denver. Crazy! He was gracious enough to let me move in with him until I found a place of my own. It wasn’t long after that he began wooing me. The last thing I was looking for was a relationship, but Isaac had every quality that I was looking for in someone. I finally gave in during a weekend trip to a beer festival in Fort Collins. It took me awhile to realize the he was “the one”, but I always knew deep down inside that he was everything I ever wanted. | His Perspective We met in college when Marita pledged the business fraternity, delta sigma pi. I thought she was cute but we weren’t much more than fraternity brothers during college. We didn’t even become close when I was president and she was treasurer. After college we went our separate ways but we kept in touch…actually I kept in touch with Marita by including her in my mass email updates. When I moved to Denver I sent out another mass email with my new information and Marita responded. I helped her get an interview in Denver and within weeks she left Albuquerque for Denver. We remained friends when she moved to Denver but the rest I can’t explain...after we had been together for awhile I knew that we were meant to be together, but I didn’t admit that to myself (or out loud) until I was in the Philippines in December 2007; it was like someone flipped my love switch. So now here we are getting married, I guess this president needed a first lady after all. |
