8/16/09 - How Todd and Sharon Met and Fell In Love! Todd and Sharon met, thanks to her sister Melanie, on a blind date. Melanie met Todd when she attended a co-workers party, who happened to live next door to Todd's mama. It was there that Melanie met Todd and knew he would be a perfect match for her little sister. Boy, was she right!
On August 24th, 2007, Todd picked me up for our first date. (Todd gained bonus points when I found out he was a door-opener:). Todd planned the date and kept it a secret. I was extremely nervous not knowing what to expect. Nevertheless, I clammed up and had a hard time making conversation. Luckily, Todd didn't have that problem:)
The first portion of the date began at Charlie Goodnights, which is a comedy club. The top floor is a restaurant, and is where we ate before the show began. We ordered dinner, split a bottle of wine, and things were going well. Todd was a complete gentleman. He even pulled my seat out for me! After dinner, we went downstairs, where we had front row seats to the show. And wouldn't you know...the comedian picked me out of the crowd to question my bowel functions. How embarrassing?! I guess Todd wasn't too disgusted because after that, he asked if I wanted to go downtown Raleigh. I, of course, said yes! We danced the night away. After Todd saw all my moves, he was sold! Haha
On December 12th, 2008 Todd popped the question. I couldn't have asked for a more romantic engagement. I knew Todd had the ring, but I had no idea when he was going to ask. Todd casually asked me if I wanted to take Sadie (our baby) for a walk at the Apex reservoir. It seemed common enough, and didn't even consider it was going to be "the day" he was going to pop the question. The night was perfect. It wasa beautiful evening. The moon was full and the sky was clear. We were holding hands, walking along the water, and watching the moon when Todd got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. I was so surprised, I questioned if he was serious. When I realized he was, the tears started rolling:) It was the happiest moment in my life... I knew I was going to get to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing man I had ever met!
